The Future of our Planet:
Sustainable Design

The four elements—Earth, Water, Fire (Energy), and Air—play pivotal roles in the science of sustainability. Sustainability is defined as “the concept of meeting present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” With global warming and the reduction of available fossil fuels, the energy-dependent construction industry is a prime focus of sustainability.

PBS&J is a green firm. We believe in designing environmentally responsible, healthy projects, for every client, whether or not they are interested in obtaining a LEED® certification. PBS&J offers the expertise required for LEED certification and sustainable design under one umbrella.

Experience
PBS&J’s established practice in research and design of sustainable design projects reflects our understanding of a client’s evolving energy-saving and environmental goals. Our nationwide network of technical professionals includes experienced architects, engineers, scientists, and construction managers that meet practical needs while addressing budget constraints with innovative solutions and exceptional design.
