Marine Hydrographic and Geophysical Services

PBS&J offers a comprehensive range of marine hydrographic and geophysical services in support of pipeline and cable routing, well drilling, beach nourishment, search and salvage efforts, habitat mapping, dredging and navigation projects, submerged transmission lines, bridge construction, and archaeological assessments. Our clients have included petroleum and utility companies, as well as city, state, and federal agencies. PBS&J's project experience encompasses assignments in rivers, lakes, transition zones, bays, and offshore coastal waters.

We use the latest technologies for data collection including digital side-scan sonar, cesium magnetometers, single- and multi-channel sub-bottom seismic profilers, bathymetric recorders, heave compensators, and automated tide gauges. Our survey vessels are guided along preselected routes by differential GPS positioning systems and proven navigation software. Marine surveys offered by PBS&J include bathymetric, magnetic, side-scan sonar, and shallow seismic.
