Orlando, FL – Michael J. Davis, PE, was recently installed as president of the Central Florida Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society (FES). The Central Florida Chapter is the largest in the state with over 700 dues-paying members.
In addition to serving as president, Davis is the K-12 Committee chair and vice-chair for the Professional Development Committee for the Central Florida Chapter. Beginning in August, he will also be the statewide chair of the K-12 Committee. He previously served as chair of the Community Services Committee for two years.
Davis has been a member of FES since 2002. He was a graduating member of Class IV from the FES/FICE Florida Engineering Leadership Institute in 2007.
Davis is currently an associate vice president and senior group manager in PBS&J’s national tolls technology division. He also previously served as a senior program manager for the project support group with Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise as part of PBS&J’s general consultant contract. Davis has 15 years of civil engineering experience, including extensive experience in managing and designing traffic operations projects.
He will serve as the Central Florida Chapter FES president until June 2010.
The mission of FES is to support engineering education, advocate licensure, promote the ethical and competent practice of engineering, and enhance the image and well-being of all engineers in the state of Florida.
