Communities, businesses, and government agencies all face the potential loss of life, damage to property, and social disruption that can result from natural and human-caused hazards. At PBS&J we strive to assist local, state, and federal governments prepare for, mitigate against, respond to, and recover from disasters in the most effective way possible.
PBS&J maintains a team of more than 40 full-time emergency management, risk engineering, and homeland security experts. Past projects undertaken by PBS&J have involved pre-disaster activities such as detailed natural and human-caused risk assessments; local, state, and regional hazard mitigation planning; homeland security planning and implementation; force protection and security planning; floodplain mapping; evacuation studies; and the design and implementation of hazard mitigation measures. PBS&J post-disaster work has involved damage assessments, debris management, and the administration of long-term recovery and reconstruction programs.
