PBS&J is considered a leader in most aspects of groundwater well services. Our hydrogeologists are highly experienced in designing all classes of wells, designing and implementing well rehabilitation programs for deteriorated wells, and conducting and analyzing aquifer tests.
We apply industry standard methods to our well designs that conform to any relevant regulations. Our specifications follow American Water Works Association standards, reflect the intended purpose of the well, and can be incorporated into bid documents for contractor solicitations or inserted into standard work plans. We seek the most cost effective construction approach and materials that will provide a long-lasting well (for whatever purpose), while at the same time minimizing costs.
When the performance of supply wells is no longer adequate, PBS&J’s hydrogeologists can evaluate and identify the problem and determine an appropriate rehabilitative remedy. Whether the needs be chlorination, acid treatment, redevelopment, or some other approach, we know how to return our clients’ water supply to satisfactory performance and avoid expensive replacement costs.
PBS&J also provides complete subsurface and aquifer testing services. We custom design subsurface investigations and well tests to evaluate well performance, meet regulatory requirements, and provide critical information on well and aquifer behavior and response to pumping. Using state-of-the-art equipment we gather field data during the testing and then apply appropriate analytical tools to evaluate the data. Our aquifer tests have been used for water rights and water use permitting, public water supply well permitting, well field design, well siting, impact analysis, regional groundwater availability studies, wellhead protection investigations, and remediation programs.
