Team Reselected for USACE Program Management Contract
Nearly a year and a half after taking on the role of assisting the federal government in its efforts to reconstruct hurricane-protection infrastructure in the greater New Orleans area, the engineering firms Evans-Graves Engineers, PBS&J, and HDR have been re-selected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to provide program and project management support for its South Louisiana Water Resources Program. Encompassing hurricane protection and ecosystem restoration, the program includes levees, floodwalls, floodgates, and pump stations, as well as coastal protection measures. [more]
Sickles Elected ASFM Region VIII Director
PBS&J senior program manager Jeff Sickles, PE, CFM, has been elected as Region VIII Director for the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM). As a regional director he will represent the interests and concerns of Region VIII to the ASFPM executive staff and Board of Directors and to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) regional offices. ASFPM is an organization of professionals involved in floodplain management; flood hazard mitigation; the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP); and flood preparedness, warning, and recovery. PBS&J Receives CMAA Award for TampaÕs I-4/I-275 Downtown Interchange
On Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at a ceremony in
Chicago
to conclude the 2007 national conference of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), PBS&J received one of CMAAÕs 12 ÒProject Achievement AwardsÓ for work on the I-4/I-275 Downtown Tampa Interchange Operational and Safety Improvements project. The awards were presented as part of CMAAÕs industry recognition dinner. The winning projects, which ranged in cost from less than $10 million to more than $100 million and in discipline from a community branch library to a major enhancement of one of AmericaÕs busiest highways, were selected by an expert jury from among 75 nominees submitted to CMAA earlier in the year.
